Fonte: CVRVV

Soalheiro Alvarinho 2011 Vinho Verde – beber entre 2012-2015 –  From Monçao and Melgaço. TA 5.9 g/l. Vineyards at 100-200 m. Name means a place where there is sun and heat. Early harvest. First bottle too much SO2 and TCA? Second bottle much better: fragrant ripe fruit, citrus and pineapple. Mineral sourness on the palate offsets the sweetness of the fruit. Much more energy than the oaked Reserva. (JH) 12.7%. Avaliação: 17,5/20 pts.

Soalheiro, Primeiras Vinhas Alvarinho 2010 Vinho Verde – beber entre 2012-2018 – Monção and Melgaço subregion. Intense fruit aromas of citrus, pineapple and green fig with a a bit of celery thrown in. Utterly seductive on the palate - all that wonderful ripe fruit allied with lovely freshness and that sour mineral edge typical of Vinho Verde. Not sure if this is off dry or if the fruit is just very ripe. Very long indeed. Sometimes I have found Soalheiro wines almost too ripe, too broad but this shows excellent concentration and harmony without contradicting its Vinho Verde origins. Sometimes you just cannot escape the predictable choice! (JH) 13%. Avaliação: 17,5/20 pts.

Soalheiro, Reserva Alvarinho 2010 Vinho Verde – beber entre 2013-2018 -Fermented and aged in French oak. TA 5.5 g/l, pH 3.4. Gently honeyed and spicy on the nose with ripe citrus and stony apricot but also a hint of creamy vanilla, even coconut and pineapple. Pretty oaky on the palate but the fruit can take it. Intense, concentrated and long. Fresh yet rounded out by the creamy oak texture. Oak stands out a bit at the moment but it is all well balanced. Fruit is richer on the finish, much more tropical on the finish. Older vines (20 years). Almost too rich even though the acidity is good. Very distinctive style. (JH) 13%. Avaliação: 17/20 pts.

Soalheiro, Reserva Alvarinho 2007 Vinho Verde – beber entre 2011 – 2017 -Fermented and aged in oak. Complex nose: spicy clementines, a touch honeyed, creamy mealy oak. Has that classic Portuguese aged white wine flavour - a little like resin but much more pleasurable than that suggests. Full bodied and rich and yet still so fresh and youthfully mouthwatering. (JH) 13%. Avaliação: 17,5/20 pts.
